My imprisonment in 1931 in Verhneuralsky political prison of OGPU (KGB) on the case of The Mensheviks Union.

I ( Adrian Fedorovich Timofeev) belonged to the Russian  Party of Socialists-Revolutionaries. It was a major political party in early 20th century in  Russia and a key player in the Russian Revolution. It  won a plurality of the national vote  in Russia's first-ever democratic elections. This election was to the RUSSIAN CONSTITUENT ASSEMBLY. This party was defeated and destroyed by the  Bolsheviks.

It was my  second imprisonment.  It was  in  1930-1934.

          

This is my photo after returning  to Moscow from in  Verhneuralsky  political prison  of OGPU (KGB) on the case of The Mensheviks Union. I returned to Moscow in 1934.

I  stopped my  political activities after the Bolshevik victory in Russia.

The main problem for me  was to stay alive  together with  my beloved wife  Anfisa and our two sons - Alexander of February1918  and Adrian  who was born in 1921.

The Great Terror began in 1930. Many educated people who worked for the Soviet Regime went to prison.

 I   was sentenced to 10 years in prison during the trial of the  The Mensheviks Union in Moscow on 01-09 March 1931.

*)  I was arrested the 1^st  time on  04 December 1905 in Kiev in the revolitionery meeting of  the Russian  Party of Socialists-Revolutionaries.

I again got in to jail on 03 December 1930 -   25 yers later!!!

At home  my children and wife are staying

They will cry and say why

We  R soldiers don’t need to merry

It would be easier to   die! 

I spent four  years in  Verhneuralsky  political prison  of OGPU (KGB).

I have been discharged from the prison due to my illness in 1934.

OGPU made ​​attempts to put me in jail again in 1937.
This is a letter  dated  23 June 1933 of my beloved wife  Anfisa to me.
I was at that time  3 years in prison in the terrible   Verhneuralsky  political prison  of OGPU (KGB). 

Dear Adrian! You  write nothing  about the state of your health.

Дорогой Адриан! Ты ничего не пишешь о состоянии твоего здоровья да и вообще не пишешь.

Проследнее твое письмо датировано 01 Марта.

Собственно, ты не пишешь уже 4 месяца – зачем ты это делаешь ?

Ты обиделся на слово ангар – у меня что на уме, то и на языке!

Я много сказала (написала) тебе того, что не следовало говорить.

Ну да это не переделаешь.  Нельзя и того переделать, что забыть тебя я не могу!

Я прекрасно знаю, что ты думаешь в этот момент и вполне согласна с этими заключениями.

Надеюсь на твою помощь. Сбрось с себя скверное настроение.

Маня (сестра Адриана – Мария – посещала Адриана в тюрьме) говорит, что эта зима была неимоверно тяжелой.

Пора уже чтобы и для нас наступили отдых   и покой.

Да мой далекий и близкий злюка, тебе тоже желаю скорого счастья.

Послала вчера тебе 30 рублей.

Адик (сын Адриан) уехал в летний лагерь. Алька (сын Александр) едет 15 Июля. Но возможно все переменится в зависимости от места твоего пребывания. ( В то время ничего не знали про сталинские лагеря – Анфиса думала, что условия пребывания – такие же как в дореволюционной Лукьяновской Киевской тюрьме. Она надеялась на скорое освобождение мужа).

Пиши немедленно. Мне нужно несколько строк от тебя.

Если что, то деньги переведу телеграфом. 

Родные все здоровы! Муха*)  очень обеспокоена твоим молчанием и очень ругала тебя и меня, что ты ничего не пишешь, а я тебе мало пишу!

У нее все хорошо. Саша**) работает  и вообще она цветет( хорошо выглядит).

Крепко тебя целую и надеюсь на скорое свидание.

Немедленно ответь иначе очень, очень рассержусь на тебя.

*)Муха - известная художница и скульптор Сахарова Мария Сергеевна – друг семьи.

** ) Саша - муж г-жи Сахаровой – Александр Николаевич Сахаров – также работник Центрального Банка России был позднее  осужден за вредительство. Он провел несколько лет  в страшном лагере ОГПУ в городе Колпашево Томской области. Остался жив также как и  Адриан.
The  letter  which was  written in 1937 in  my defense   by  old revolutionary Mr. Konstantine Mironovich  Tereshkovich is at the bottom.

I hereby certify that Mr. Adrian F. Timofeev has been an active worker of the revolution of 1905.  I was in  Lukyanovskaya prison in Kiev together with Mr. Adrian F. Timofeev  in 1906-1907. He was elected as an elder of our prison.  Mr. Adrian F. Timofeev was elected by the  political prisoners for defending there rights and needs.   Mr. Adrian F. Timofeev  much help to us all, prisoners and political prisoners held in prison, before our sending to Siberia for hard labor and exile.  Mr. Adrian F. Timofeev took part in the building of tunnel, which is dug for the  escapes from prison.

I confirm that Mr. Timofeev was a dedicated fighter for the revolution and the interests of the working-class companion.
